Frank L. Phillips

Frank L. Phillips, 90, of Clarion, died on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his home surrounded by his daughters. Born on June 26, 1923 in New Bethlehem; he was the son of Leo and Anna Cherico Phillips. Frank was married on June 3, 1948 to the former Lena C. Cimino, who preceded him in death on March 20, 2013. He attended the Immaculate Conception School. A veteran, he served in the Army during WWII. Frank was the former owner of the Phillips Fruit Market with his wife. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Clarion. He was also a member of VFW Post #2145 of Clarion. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed singing, telling Army stories, and working at the fruit market. He is survived by five children, Anna Jo Basinger and her husband, Clyde, of Warren, Ohio; Linda Kay Zacherl of Senoia, Georgia; Rose Muse and her husband, Greg, of Fayetteville, Georgia; Carol Shultz and her husband, Don, of Clarion; and Lorie Thomas of Boardman, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Josephine Loretta of Fairmont, West Virginia, Anna Selker of Pittsburgh, and Mary Jane Gardina and her husband, Joe, of Clarion; numerous nieces and nephews; and special caregiver, Kathy McGrady. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a sister, Nora Demarco, and a brother, Dominic Phillips. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Wake services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, in the funeral home by American Legion Post #66 of Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, in the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, presiding. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Memorials and donations can be made to the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion PA 16214. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014, in the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion .
