Alyssa K Landrith

Alyssa Krystine Landrith became an angel on November 6, 2015. She passed in her Clarion home suddenly but peacefully with her mother and her dog, Ted, by her side. She was 18 years old. Alyssa fought years of misdiagnoses for an eating disorder when in fact she had Gastroparesis and a rare digestive disorder called Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome. Both diseases caused chronic and unrelenting malnutrition which ultimately caused her body to shut down from starvation. Her stomach and intestines were paralyzed. She was a fighter, and through 7 feeding tubes and many treatments she always had a smile through the constant pain. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Alyssa is preceeded in death by her grandmother, Kristin Stroupe, of Clarion. Alyssa is the daughter of Lori R. Landrith, of Clarion, and James M. Landrith, of Albuquerque, NM. She was born July 6, 1997 in Rio Rancho, NM. She had been a student of Clarion-Limestone Elementary and High school, and later PA Cyber school. Aly loved her family, her friends, and her animals. She had aspirations to become a Child Advocacy Attorney in the medical arena, and was a brilliant student, artist, musician and young woman. Alyssa never gave up, but her little body simply did. She is survived by her parents, grandparents, Don and Linda Corbett of Parker, PA and Karen Shatar and James Schlosser of Placitas, NM, and her great-grandfather, Clyde Corbett of Clarion, PA. She also had aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends across the country who are mourning her life lost too soon. Alyssa has been cremated, and private service will be held at a later date. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home has taken care of arrangements. In leiu of flowers, donations will be accepted to help with the funeral home expenses, and medical bills that have been mounting. They can be arranged through the Robert V. Her blue eyes looking down at us, now no longer in pain. Now no longer suffering.
