Constance L. Sterrett

Constance L. “Connie” Sterrett, 77, of Mays Road, Clarion, died Monday morning, July 16, 2012, at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born February 19, 1935, in Brookville; she was the daughter of the late Arvon and Margaret E. Irwin McKisson. She was married to Richard M. Sterrett, who preceded her in death on June 16, 1987. Connie was a 1953 graduate of Clarion-Limestone High School. In her earlier years, Connie worked for 17 years at the Owen’s Illinois Glass Plant. She then drove school bus. She later, became a massage therapist and owned Caring Touch in Clarion. She was a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. Connie enjoyed gardening. She loved flowers and animals. She enjoyed doing anything artistic, including painting and making flower arrangements. She also enjoyed going to the movies, going to the beach, gambling, playing golf and softball, and watching Dr. Oz. Connie was an avid Steelers fan. She loved jewelry and was an avid QVC shopper. She is survived by a sister, Carol Mays and her husband, Jim, of Clarion; a brother, Jerry McKisson and his wife, Betty, of Fisher; and a brother-in-law, Robert Lieberum of Marble. Also surviving are six nieces and nephews, John McKisson and his wife, Karen, of Fisher, Andy McKisson and his wife, Ginny, of Fisher, John Lieberum and his wife, Lisa, of Biglerville, Mark Lieberum and his wife, Cathy, of Virginia, and Jamie Mays and Gina Mays of Clarion; and a number of great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Lieberum. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012, in the funeral home with Rev. Stacie Pitts, pastor of Edenburg Presbyterian Church in Knox, officiating. Interment will be held in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012, in the funeral home with Rev. Stacie Pitts, pastor of Edenburg Presbyterian Church in Knox, officiating.
