Dean A. Wolbert

Dean A. Wolbert, 61, of Miola, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Easter Sunday evening, April 20, 2025 in the comfort of his own home following a strong battle with cancer. He was born on September 19, 1963 in Clarion; son of the late Leon “Lee” and Doris Blymiller Wolbert. Dean was a 1981 graduate of North Clarion High School and then worked at McDonalds until 2006. He was also the assistant manager at Perkins in Clarion from 2009 until 2021 when his health started to decline. Dean married the love of his life, Tiea McCormick, on August 14, 2014, who survives. He was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. Dean was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors and his dog, Lucky. He also loved spending time with his children and chauffeuring them to their extracurricular activities. In addition to his wife, Dean is survived by his children, Kalyn Cleaver and her husband, Michael, of Delaware, Ian Wolbert and his wife, Candace, of Maryland, Rebecca Wolbert and Zoie Wolbert both of Miola and his grandchildren, Colson Cleaver and Bryson Cleaver of Delaware and Darcy Wolbert of Maryland. He is also survived by his brothers, Kerry Wolbert of Marienville, Frank Wolbert and his wife, Deb, of Florida, Jerry Wolbert and his wife, Kristi, of Clarion, and Dave Wolbert of South Carolina; a sister-in-law, Bobbi Wolbert of Shippenville; his father-in-law, Emil McCormick of Indiana, PA; his mother-in-law, Joyce Shoaff and her husband, Mitch, of Knox; and a brother-in-law, Chris McCormick and his significant other, Heather Teel, of Indiana State; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his sister, Beth Hart; his brother, Dale Wolbert; and a sister-in-law, Katie Wolbert. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice nurses for their excellent care and compassion they provided. Family and friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Additional viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025 in the funeral home where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Polinek presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dean’s honor to the Clarion Forest VNA, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214.
