Edward A. Hargenrader Jr.

Edward A. Hargenrader Jr., 52, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Clarion, died Friday, July 1, 2011, at his residence following a two year battle with cancer. Born July 29, 1958, in Clarion, he was the son of late Edward A. Hargenrader Sr. and Celestine Hartle Hargenrader of Lake Park, FL. A veteran, he served in the Navy from 1976 to 1980 as a helicopter mechanic on the USS Enterprise. He was married on October 5, 1985 to the former Cynthia A. Hogan, whom survives. Mr. Hargenrader attended Clarion Area High School and Williamsport Community College. He worked for 20 years as a master plumber for HMI Mechanical in Lyons, NY. He retired when he moved to Minnesota with his family to take care of his children. Mr. Hargenrader was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Church in Rochester, MN. He was also a lifelong member of the VFW. Mr. Hargenrader frequently visited Florida to see family. He enjoyed traveling anywhere with his wife and children, particularly loved to check out amusement parks. He also enjoyed gardening and preserving what he grew, looking up recipes, and cooking. In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a son, Jonathan Hargenrader and a daughter, Amy Hargenrader, both of Rochester, MN. Also surviving are seven siblings Gary Hargenrader and his wife, Linda, of Warrensburg, MO; Mike Hargenrader and his wife, Jody, of Sligo; Lynne Boles and her husband, Michael, of Kissimmee, FL; Jane Eckler and her husband, Wally, of Lake Park, FL; Elaine Ansick and her husband, Fred, of Henderson, VA; Alan Hargenrader and his wife, Sandra, of Tequesta, FL; Rita Eulas and her fiancé, Gary Vazquez, of Port St. Lucie, FL; and several aunts and uncles, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father in June of 1999. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Christian Wake Service will be held at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion with Father Samuel Bungo, pastor of the St. Charles Church in New Bethlehem and St. Nicholas Church in Crates, presiding. Following funeral services, military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #66 at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Entombment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Mausoleum in Clarion.
