James Yoder

James “Jobe” “Paw” Yoder, 70, of Maple Grove Road, Rimersburg, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at his home. Born May 6, 1943 in Madison, Twp., Clarion County; he was the son of Archie and Jacqueline Waterson Yoder. Jobe worked for the United Mine Workers. He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Rimersburg. Jobe was also a member of the VFW Post 7132 of Rimersburg, VFW Post 2145 of Clarion, and the United Mine Workers Union. He enjoyed playing Bingo, going to bluegrass festivals, going to dances, going to the casino, and fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars, remodeling his house, and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are his daughter-in-law, Ruth Yoder, of Southside, TN; a brother, John W. Yoder, Sr. and his wife, Carol, of Bela; two sisters, Nancy McNaughton of Milwaukee, and Jill Hibell and David Blair of Fairview. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Marshall Yoder and his wife, Jessica Arnold, of Clarksville, Tosha Yoder and her companion, Nathan Claypoole, of Rimersburg, Kayla Hoard and her husband, John, of Charlotte, TN, and Rona Martin and her husband, James, of Southside, TN; seven great grandchildren, Jayden Yoder, Brailagh Claypoole, Haley Yoder, Katelyn Martin, “Shotgun” Gaige Claypoole, Lucas Martin, and Preston Hoard; five nephews, John W. “Poke” Yoder Jr., Jamie Yoder, Miles Altman, Casey Altman, and Steve McNaughton; and three nieces, Nance McNaughton, Lisa Kliteman, and Karen Jeffrey. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Joanne “Maw” Courson Yoder, and a son, Ron Yoder. Family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at the Burns Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., 434 Main Street, Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, in the funeral home with Rev. Mark Deeter, pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Rimersburg, officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013.
