Kenneth E. Flick

Kenneth E. Flick, age 78, of Leeper, passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Monday, August 4, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 19, 1946, in Brookville to the late Edward J. and Arline M. Simons Flick. Ken was a 1965 graduate of North Clarion High School and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving. He is survived by the love of his life, Darlene C. Frederick, whom he married December 31, 1966, at St Mary Catholic Church of Crown. Ken spent many years working in the coal industry, followed by several years as an over-the-road truck driver. He later owned and operated Quality Fencing before retiring from his position as an equipment operator at County Landfill. Ken loved fishing and vacationing on Lake Nipissing in Ontario and spent a number of years co-owning and running Drift Inn Camp. He was especially proud of his “Little Cabin in the Woods,” which he built with his brothers. Making maple syrup at the Flick Farm Sugar Shack was a special family tradition he enjoyed. But more than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a devoted member of St Mary Catholic Church of Crown, he volunteered countless hours as a handyman and groundskeeper. Ken was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #10341. He was very active in the Wreaths Across America Campaign, proudly supporting those who served. Three years ago, he and others brought it to St Mary Catholic Cemetery in Crown. In addition to his wife, Darlene, of 58 years, he is survived by his sons, Darrin Flick and his wife, Sandy, and Paul Flick and his wife, Heidi, all of Leeper; his daughter, Stephanie Flick-Green and her husband, Michael, of Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, Kenny Summersgill and his wife, Christine, of Summerhill, Kayla Burkhardt and her husband, Corey, of Sligo, Mirranda Bauer and her husband, Seth, of Lucinda, Brandon Flick and his significant other, Cierra Roy, of Leeper, and Sai Green of Tennessee; 6 great-grandchildren, Lillian, Lucas, and Levi Summersgill, Bethany and DJ Bauer, and Bennett Burkhardt. He is also survived by his faithful basset, Willa. Ken is further survived by his brothers, Mike Flick of Leeper and Ron Flick of Shippenville; his sister, Diane Hamm and her husband, Roger, of Ohio; and 2 sisters-in-law, Marie Keller of New York and Cheryl Flick of Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Flick and Mark Flick, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Flick, and a great-grandson, Corey Summersgill. Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Military honors will be accorded in the funeral home by the American Legion Post #066 of Clarion prior to calling hours at 1:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Polinek presiding. Inurnment will follow at St Mary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ken’s honor to Clarion Forest VNA, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214, or Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Company, P.O.
