Linda K. Ganoe

Linda K. (Simpson) Ganoe, age 82, of Clarion, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, and is now reunited with her beloved husband, Bernie, her parents, and siblings. What a joyous celebration that would have been. She was born on Christmas Eve of 1943 in Kissinger Mills to the late Bruce and Mary Gorman Simpson. Linda was the second youngest of fifteen children and the last surviving member. Her large family shaped the generous, caring, fun, and sassy lady she became. Linda married the love of her life, Bernard “Bernie” Ganoe, on October 21, 1966, and they raised three children, Jody, Chris, and Holly. Linda and Bernie shared fifty-five beautiful years together until his passing on March 2, 2022. Out of high school, she worked at the Glass Plant in Parker and waitressed at Johnny Garneau’s in Clarion. Linda then worked at Riverside in Clarion, where she fondly reflected on the years she spent there and enjoyed her close-knit coworkers, who became lifelong friends. Linda also loved visiting with the customers. She carried that love of working with the community into her later years, working at Northwest Savings Bank in Clarion, where she retired. But nothing beat the role of becoming a grandmother. Family was always at the core of what was important to Linda. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. Linda was always cheering them on in any activity they were involved in, and she very seldom missed an event. Linda took great care to make sure every holiday was special and magical for her grandchildren. She was also dedicated to her faith and a devoted member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion. Linda was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan and wrote a poem for each of their Super Bowls. Linda was so honored to have one of them read by Myron Cope on live TV for Super Bowl XIV. She had a competitive side and, in her younger years, coached her daughter's softball team to a #1 finish in a local school league. Linda also loved to play softball with her extended family and was always up to challenge a play on the field with anyone. She carried her competitiveness into bowling and card games. It was never a dull moment on family game nights with Linda. She will be deeply missed by her family and those who were blessed to know her. Linda is survived by her children, Jody Kiser and her husband, Brad, of Corsica, Chris Ganoe and his wife, Heidi, of Miola, and Holly Megnin and her husband, Matthew, of Limestone; seven grandchildren, Felicia Kiser, Kyle Kiser and his significant other, Alyssa, Alyssa Dalton and her husband, Colby, Skyler Winter and her husband, Justin, Laken Ganoe and her significant other, Ryan, Nathan Megnin and his significant other, Kinesis, and Jason Megnin; and three adored great-grandchildren, Addalynn, Bryar, and Avery; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her eight brothers, Ed, Pete, Jack, Jim, Larry “Pep”, Eric “Pat”, Eugene “Bum”, and John, and six sisters, Peggy Lou Simpson, June Divins, Sally Kreibel, Carol “Dub” Clark, Mary “Gail” Maxim, and Becky Sleigher. Her family would like to thank the staff at Harmony Circle in Laurelbrooke Landing in Brookville and the Penn Highlands Hospice team for the compassion and care they provided to Linda. Family and friends will be received from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Jason Feigh presiding. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery.
