Logan R. Hullinger

On March 6, 2026, Logan R. Hullinger passed away unexpectedly at the age of 29 years. He was born on March 10, 1996, in Allentown, PA, and was a resident of Baltimore, MD, at the time of his passing. He grew up in Clarion, PA, graduated from Clarion High School, and earned a BA degree in Journalism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2018. Logan loved his family and cherished time spent with his Mom, Dad, Ian, and Julia. He always preferred a big hug when it was time to say goodbye. Logan liked going to new restaurants, ramen, and super-hot spicy food. He was a straight shooter, and a question asked of him always received an honest, direct answer. Logan was a good-looking guy with a mischievous grin and penetrating eyes. His “man in black” persona was a personal choice, and he wore it well. He was smart, a good athlete, liked people and politics, and loved his dog and cats. Logan expressed care with simple, sweet gestures and totally disarming statements of affirmation, support, or encouragement. He will be forever missed. Logan lived his journalistic dream as a reporter at the York Dispatch, Chattanooga Times Free Press, and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, but he found his true calling while living in Baltimore, reporting on addiction, drug policy, and harm reduction. His self-published online newsletter, Mobtown Redux, and freelance partnerships with several online news organizations made it possible. Logan had a special place in his heart for the Baltimore Beat paper, the people he met working there, and the people he knew working in the Baltimore City homeless and harm reduction communities. Logan will be lovingly remembered by his family, including his mother, Barbara Noti Hullinger, his siblings, Ian Hullinger and Julia Hullinger, his grandpa, Herbert Hullinger, two aunts, Kristen Hullinger and Charlene Baszak, four uncles, Marc Hullinger, Monte Hullinger, John Noti, and Calvin Stout, and numerous cousins and friends. Logan was preceded in death by his Nana, Mary Jane Henry, his Grandma, Dorla Hullinger, and his Aunt, Lori Hullinger. His father, Todd E. Hullinger, passed away three weeks following Logan’s passing. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion has the distinct honor of serving the family, and all services will be held privately.
