Lynn J. Schimp

Lynn Joyce (Chernicky) Schimp, 64, of Upton, Massachusetts, formerly of Clarion, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, June 2, 2012 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born on November 15, 1947, in Clarion; she was the daughter of Pete and Lois (Powell) Chernicky of Clarion. She was married on December 18, 1963 to Daniel Schimp, and he survives. She was educated in Immaculate Conception High School. Lynn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Framingham State College, class of 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Art History. Lynn was a communicant of St. Gabriel the Archangel Church in Upton, MA. She loved art and drawing, Interior Design, was an avid skier, loved to read and enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her two children, Christopher Schimp and his wife, Shannon, of Upton, MA and Trisha Dorfman and her husband, Peter, of Franklin, MA; her siblings, Robert Chernicky of Clarion, Darlene Bailey of Rimersburg, and Keith Chernicky of Clarion. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Danielle, Kristie, Kyle, Julianne, Nicole, Kaitlyn and Lynn. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Upton, MA on Wednesday. Family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Clarion, with Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, Clarion, presiding. Interment will be held in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Clarion, with Rev.
