Marcella F. Seitz

Marcella Florence Seitz, age 103, of Lucinda, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, August 24, 2025 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 5, 1921 in Lucinda on Madden Drive on her parents’, Edward B. and Kathryn S. Wolbert Ochs, farm. On June 3, 1946, Marcella married Raymond L. Seitz, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2001. They spent 55 years together, taking many road trips to Lancaster and Florida. Marcella was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Rosary Society at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan and loved watching game shows from the 70’s and NASCAR. Marcella also loved gardening, canning, her flowers and red birds. She was feisty, but loving. Her most famous quotes were: “Oh, for God's sake!” and “Oh, you damn fool!”, which were mostly directed towards her 2 sons, John and Michael. One of her favorite enjoyments until she was 99 years old was driving with her sister, Rosemary, to get their hair curled at Yvonne the Butcher Weaver and then to the Leeper Market. Marcella is survived by her sons, John Seitz and his wife, Lee, of Clarion and Michael Seitz and his wife, Gina, of Lucinda; her grandchildren, Sean Anderson and his wife, Amanda, of New Bethlehem, Scott Anderson and his wife, Angie, of Butler, Steve Anderson and his wife, Nicole, of Strattanville, Shane Anderson and his wife, Amy, of Lucinda, Zachary Seitz and his wife, Ashley, of Lucinda, Hayley Armstrong and her husband, TJ, of Shippenville, David Collett of New Bethlehem, and Dr. Michael McClain and his wife, Kylie, of Shippenville; and 11 great-grandchildren, Cole Anderson, Peyton Anderson, Ruby Collett, Everly Anderson, Kaylor, Ryker, Blakey and Huxton Seitz, and Preslie, Audley and Ellie Armstrong. She is also survived by her brothers, John Ochs of Shippenville and Randy Ochs of Rimersburg, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Marcella was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Anderson, and son-in-law, A. Robert Anderson; her son, Raymond Seitz, Jr.; 2 brothers, Wilfred “Dick” Ochs and his wife, Dorothy “Dode”, and Loraine Ochs; 2 sisters, Alberta “Mae” Fescemyer and her husband, Frank, and Rosemary Weaver and her husband, Willis; and a sister-in-law, Janet Ochs. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Clarion Forest VNA Hospice and to all the people who sent cards, letters, and came to visit Marcella. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Cory Pius presiding. Inurnment will take place beside her beloved husband in the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
