Martha L. Zeitler

Martha L. Zeitler, 74, of Shippenville, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2009, at Clarion Hospital. Born August 23, 1934, in Clarion, she was the daughter of the late John and Mildred Kidd Alexander. Mrs. Zeitler married Donald L. Zeitler Sr. on September 9, 1960 in Clarion, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2004. She attended Clarion Limestone School. Mrs. Zeitler was a member of the Holy Trinity Church in Shippenville. She was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass plant for 40 years, retiring in May of 1993. Mrs. Zeitler enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by son, Donald Zeitler Jr. and companion, Sheriann Fisher, of Shippenville; daughter, Tammy Evans and husband, Doug, of Shippenville; son Earl Zeitler and wife, Carrie, of Lincolnton, NC; and daughter, Mille Lauer and husband, Kevin, of Shippenville. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Christy Wolbert and husband, Randy, of Lucinda; Kelly Evans and companion, John Graham, of Shippenville; Brandy Evans of Shippenville; Alex Henry of Clarion; and Kyle Lauer of Shippenville; and three great grandchildren, Zack Wolbert, Mason Burr, and Quinten Graham. Also surviving are six sister-in-laws, Mary K. Alexander of Clarion; Bernice Alexander of Roseville; Mary Alice Wiles of Ford City; Lida Blanche King of Grove City; Annabella Zeitler of Pittsburgh; and Ida Zeitler of Girard, OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. In addition to the husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, John “Tom” Alexander, Press Alexander, Carl Alexander, and William George Alexander; three sisters, Mary J. Alexander, Sadie Schrecengost, and infant sister, Sarah Alexander. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Gary Hilfiger, pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Shippenville, officiating. Interment will be held at the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
