Robert L. Risher

Robert L. “Bob” Risher, age 75, of Shippenville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday evening, March 5, 2026 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 10, 1950 in Butler to the late Robert I. And Dorothy Jean Kelly Risher. Bob was a 1968 graduate of Union High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1970, proudly serving during Vietnam until 1972. Bob worked as a machine repairman at Owens Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion, retiring after thirty-two years. He was Presbyterian by faith. Bob was a member of the Rimersburg VFW Post #7132 and a former member of the Clarion Oaks Golf Course where he enjoyed playing until his health started to decline. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed taking walks and traveling with his family, especially to Cancun. Bob, affectionately known as Poppy, is survived by his “queen”, Judy; their two sons, Shane M. Risher of Clarion and Nick R. Risher of Shippenville; and their bonus daughters, Zoey O. Ketterer and Leanne N. Wentling, both of Shippenville. He is also survived by his two nephews, Jeremy Risher and his wife, Krista, of Florida and Nathan Risher and his wife, Ashley, of Ohio; a niece, Kelli Adams of Emlenton; four sisters-in-law, Wanda Wagner of Shippenville, Connie McCleary of Shippenville, Rose Nguyen and her husband, Hung, of Missouri, and Jean Troese and her husband, Dana, of Clarion; and numerous other nieces and nephews; as well as his Cancun family, Enrri and Rorro (his “Mexican son”), his wife, Erika, and their children, Angel, Mauricio, and Jade. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Kerry J. Risher, and an infant brother. Bob’s family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Military honors will be accorded prior to calling hours at 3:45 p.m. by the VFW Post #7132 and American Legion Post #454 of Rimersburg. Cremation care has been entrusted to the RV Burns Crematorium Inc. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob’s honor to a veteran organization of one’s choice.
