Ruby E. Bunch

Ruby E. Bunch, age 93, of Clarion, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, November 4, 2025 at McKinley Health Center in Brookville. She was born on February 1, 1932 in Dempseytown and grew up in Oil City. Ruby was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Doris Spangler Moyer. She was a 1950 graduate of Oil City High School. Ruby married the love of her life, James D. Bunch, on July 14, 1954, who survives. They shared seventy-one years together. She worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in Clarion, where she retired. Ruby enjoyed watching Hagee Ministries on TV, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches, and crocheting. She crocheted a baby Afghan for every one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruby was a very compassionate and caring person. She was always helping others in any way she could. Ruby and her husband often took in anyone who was down on their luck and gave them a place to stay until they were back up on their feet. Her home was also a place where her kids' friends were always welcome. It was common for Ruby to fix dinner for over twenty people when everyone’s friends were at the house. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her five children, Mark Bunch and his wife, Brenda, of Clarion, Robin Bunch of Arizona, Craig Bunch and his wife, Karen, of Texas, Allison Thompson of Clarion, and Doris Troup and her husband, Roger, of Clarion; fourteen grandchildren, Casey Bunch, Chris Bunch, Brandon Bunch, Brandy Magee, Wendi Bunch, Jason Thompson, Charlene Bunch-Tidd, Justin Bunch, Amber Burris, Heather Thompson, Matthew Bunch-Tidd, Tiffany Mack, Jenae Bowser, and Brady Troup; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson with two great-great-granddaughters on the way. Ruby is also survived by her sister, Lois Tubo of Georgia, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roy Bunch, and a son-in-law, Bruce Thompson. Family and friends will be received from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the funeral home with Worship Leader, Gina DeLair, presiding. Interment will follow at the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
