Andrew D. Grolemund Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Andrew D. Grolemund, 67, of Fryburg, died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at UPMC Northwest Hospital in Seneca. He was born on May 27, 1944, in Snydersburg; he was the son of Sylvester “Nash” and Anna “Betty” Swartsfager Grolemund. He was a 1962 graduate of St. Joseph’s School in Lucinda. Mr. Grolemund was married on January 30, 1976 to the former Alice V. Baughman, and she survives. A veteran, he served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne. Mr. Grolemund worked at the Ochs Sawmill in Snydersburg. He had 40 years in the glass business, from Marienville to Parker to Atlanta, GA, and retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant in June 2010. He was of the Catholic faith. Mr. Grolemund enjoyed hunting and gambling, playing cards, and shooting skeet and trap. He was a member of the Antler Club in Lucinda, AC Valley Sportsman Club, and Life Endowment N.R.A. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David Grolemund and his wife, Jodi, of Limestone; and Mark Grolemund and his wife, Bethann, of Clarion; a daughter, Andrea Smith and her husband, Barry, of Fryburg; and two grandchildren, Logan Smith of Fryburg, and Justin Siebka of Strattanville. Also surviving are two brothers, William Grolemund of Florida; and Bernard Grolemund and his wife, Janice, of Leeper, and two sisters, Rosie Raymo and her husband, Paul, of Lake Lucy; and Sylvia Mealy and her husband, Bill, of Leeper. Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012, in the funeral home with Rev. D.G. Davis III, pastor of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fryburg.
