Archie Paul Maxwell Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Archie Paul Maxwell, 74, of Miola Road, Clarion, died on Monday, April 19, 2010, at Clarion Hospital. Born September 21, 1935, in Miola, he was the son of Walter Lamb and Mabel Lucille McCleary Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell was married on June 12, 1953 to the former Georgie Keim, who survives. He was owner and operator for the Clarion Area School District as a school bus driver for 43 years. He was partner in Maxwell and Callihan Lumber Co. and also in Maxwell Bros. Inc. Mr. Maxwell was a member of the Shilo Presbyterian Church in Miola. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, restoring old cars, and his dog, Peanut. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Linda Lester and husband, Dave, of Leeper; Gary Maxwell and wife, Deborah, of Miola; Karen Sue Reaghart and husband , Linn, of Miola; Marcia Heasley and husband, Rick, of Leeper; Dana Scott Maxwell and wife, Sheila, of Punxsutawney; nine grandchildren, Ben Lester, Abbey Lester, Angela Coleman, Rebecca Maxwell, Jon Byers, Michael Maxwell, John Reaghart, Amanda King, and Kevin Heasley; and six great grandchildren, Kaydee Lester, Kaleb Lester, Gabrielle Coleman, Trinity Weckerly, Bobbi Weckerly, and Nicholas Eaker. Also surviving are one sister, Vera Schreckengost and husband, William, of Miola; and two brothers, Wayne Maxwell and wife, Joan, of Miola; and Richard Maxwell of Miola. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Maxwell and one sister, Virginia Callihan. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion and also from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the Shilo Presbyterian Church in Miola. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the Shilo Presbyterian Church in Miola with Lay Pastor Marsha Mahle officiating. Interment will be held in the Miola Cemetery.
