August 7, 1940 - October 3, 2018

Carol R. Gruber, 78, of Clarion passed away October 3, 2018 at her home. She was born August 7, 1940 in Fryburg, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Smith Eck. Carol married Doug Gruber, Sr. on November 14, 1964, whom preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and in her younger years she waitressed and was a nurse’s aide. Carol was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Post #101 of Clarion and the American Legion Post #066 Women’s Auxiliary of Clarion. Carol enjoyed baking, cooking, puzzles, crocheting, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Gerry Wise and his wife Tanya of Clarion, Jim Wise and his wife Karen of Kossuth, Troy Wise of Clarion, Tracy Weaver and her husband Aurie of Shippenville, and Doug Gruber, Jr. of Clarion, two grandchildren, Dylan James Wise and Rayce Douglas Weaver, and seven step grandchildren. Carol is also survived by her siblings, Linda Bowser of Youngstown, OH, Kathy Mendenhall of Clarion, Denny Eck and his wife Betty of Shippenville, Jack Eck of Knox, and Joe Eck of Limestone. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Carol’s family will receive friends on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2018 in the Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Morgan, pastor of the Fern Trinity Evangelical Church. Interment will follow in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
