Donald L. Stiglitz

March 21, 1937 - October 11, 2019

Donald L. Stiglitz, 82, of New Bethlehem, passed away Friday evening, October 11, 2019 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehab Center. He was born on March 21, 1937 in Huefner; a son of the late Leo and Romaine Hoover Stiglitz. Donald married Darla “Kay” Smathers on October 25, 1958; whom preceded him in death on June 13, 2012. Donald and his wife, Kay, owned and operated the Route 68 Bar in Rimersburg for 25 years. He later retired from C & K Coal Company in Clarion. Donald was a member of the Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Emlenton. He was also a member of the Clarion Moose Lodge #101. Donald enjoyed watching NASCAR and the New England Patriots. He especially loved spending time with his family. Donald is survived by his companion: Cindy Bower of New Bethlehem; his children: Dennis Stiglitz and his companion Lisa Heasley of Fairmont City, Deb Graham and her fiancé Larry Switzer of Knox, and Donna Gallagher and her husband Mike of Sligo; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Mary Lou Steele and her husband Elwood of Clarion, Sally Best and her husband Tom of Warren, John Stiglitz and his wife Ann of Knox, and Leo “June” Stiglitz and his wife Doreen of Clarion; and his sister-in-law: Marge Stiglitz of Limestone. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife; a son: Donald “Smoke” Stiglitz; his great granddaughter: Lauren Stiglitz; a son-in-law: Bob Graham; and his two brothers: Carl “Jim” Stiglitz and Robert “Bob” Stiglitz. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion is handling the arrangements. There will be no public visitation. All services will be private. Interment will be held in the Knox Cemetery.
