Mary M. Selker, 89, of Shippenville, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her home. She was born August 4, 1922, in Lucinda; she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Regina Bauer. Mary was married on June 12, 1944 to Joseph W. Selker, who preceded her death on December 21, 2005. They celebrated 61 years of marriage. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Clarion. Mrs. Selker enjoyed spending time with her family which included thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, along with cooking and sharing stories. Surviving are three sons, Joseph W. Selker Jr. of Franklin, Robert Selker and Steven Selker, both of Shippenville, and two daughters, Judy Adams of Huntington Beach, CA and Cindy Walters of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are sisters, Rita Davis of Deland, FL; Elaine Bauer of Casselberry, FL; Germaine Dobrich of Youngstown, OH; Delores Witmer of Burlington, Ontario; Nancy Zdeb of Colorado Springs, CO; and brothers, Clair Bauer of Tionesta; Regis Bauer of Beech Grove, IN; and Gerard Bauer of Lucinda. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Selker was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Bauer. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. A Christian wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012, in the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, May, 4, 2012, at Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion with the Rev. Monty Sayers, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Church, presiding. Interment will be at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception School, 729 East Main Street, Clarion PA 16214, or the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion PA 16214.
