Dana Reitz

Dana Gustwick Reitz, age 90, of Strattanville, left us peacefully on Thursday evening, February 5, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born on October 21, 1935, in Bruin, a daughter of the late Walter and Naomi Gustwick. In 1957, she had her first and only son, Dick Clark, for whom her love and pride were unmatched. In 2001, in a lovely garden ceremony, Dana married the love of her life, James Reitz, at her son's home. In her professional life, Dana was a valued bookkeeper for thirty-five years at R & S Metals. In addition, throughout the years, she was a loving mother, homemaker, and caretaker for her mother. Those who knew Dana know that she lived to the fullest and that her family was the most important thing in the world. Dana enjoyed gardening and her flowers and took great delight in camping in their RV. For years, she hosted yearly Easter Teas for her beloved grandchildren and had a custom-made playhouse built in her backyard for them to enjoy in the summertime. Dana’s Tuesdays consisted of her beauty appointments, followed by lunch with her mother and, occasionally, other family members, and then a movie at the former Clarion Matinee Movie Theater. Sitting on her back porch with Whiskers, her cat, and visiting with her neighbors, Amy and Dana Wolbert, were some of her cherished times. Dana was also an avid shopper. She and her sisters would meet up yearly to head to Indiana for a day of shopping. In her recent years, she found joy in car rides on simple country roads. In addition to her husband, Dana is survived by her son, Dick Clark, and his wife, Carol, of Clarion and their three children, Rachel, Sarah, and Will; two step-daughters, Kathy McCleary and her husband, Brad, and Jeanie Chapman and her husband, Bruce, all of South Carolina; two step-sons, James Reitz and his wife, Celeste, of Summerville and Michael Reitz and his wife, Andrea, of Punxsutawney; as well as numerous step-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ginny Bennett, and her husband, Ronald of Indiana State; a brother-in-law, Ronald Lander of Marienville; two nieces, Melissa McNutt of Clarion and Laura Lander of Hazen; and two nephews, David Bennett of Indiana State and Stanley Bennett of Pennsylvania. In addition to her parents, Dana was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard “Flicker” Clark; her two sisters, Annie McNutt and her husband, Ralph, and Geraldine Lander; a niece, Wendy Bennett; and her dearest lifelong friend, Dee Wingard. Family and friends will be received from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Young presiding. The entombment will take place at Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
