Deloris J. Port

Deloris J. Port, 81, of Clarion, died on Monday, February 9, 2015, at the McKinley Health Center in Brookville. Born on March 1, 1933 in Flint, Michigan; she was the daughter of Franklin and Bertha Surner Rich. Deloris was married on September 18, 1964 to Frederick S. Port Jr., who preceded her in death on January 22, 2006. A veteran, she served in the Navy Reserves in the W.A.C. during 1951 to 1954. During that time she earned her pilot wings. Deloris moved to Clarion from Flint to work for A.B.C. Trailer where she worked as a secretary. She retired after 18 years of service to Clarion Township. She was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clarion. She was a Past Matron of the Clarion Chapter Eastern Star, where she received her 50 year star on December 6, 2014. Deloris was also a District Deputy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of PA Eastern Star. She was Grand Deputy of International Order of Rainbow for Girls; she was also Mother Advisor for Clarion Assembly Rainbow Girls. Deloris enjoyed going to Florida for the winters with her friend, Shirley Markle. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family, including watching her grandchildrens’ school and sports events. Deloris is survived by three children, Debra J. Lucchi of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Frederick S. Port III and his wife, Michelle, of Clarion, and Paul F. Port and his wife, Lori, of Orange Park, Florida; and a son-in-law, Stephen “Tony” Lucchi of Leonard, Michigan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Sophia and Dominic Lucchi, and Taylor, Lily and Noah Port, and Elizabeth and Christiana Port; and four sisters-in-law, Ethel Culbertson of Clarion, Alice Port Rupert of Clarion, Dorothy Rich of Michigan, and Joan Rich of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, Charles Rich, Robert Rich, and Albert Rich. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion; and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, Clarion. Eastern Star service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, Clarion, with Rev. Scott Houser, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be held in New Rehoboth Greenville Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorials and donations can be made to the Youth Scholarship Fund Clarion Chapter of Eastern Star or to the Permanent Memorial Endowment Fund of First Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion; and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church, Clarion, with Rev. Scott Houser, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
