Dennis R. Myers

Dennis R. “Doc” Myers, 74, of Rimersburg, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Clarion Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1941 on his family’s farm in Piney Township Clarion County; the son of George Valentine and Mable Jane Over Myers. He graduated from Union Joint High School in 1959 and also attended IBM School in Pittsburgh. Doc was married on August 9, 1986 to Lori A. Guntrum, and she survives. He worked at Pullman Standard in Butler for over 20 years, he also worked with his brothers-in-law, Dan Chapman and Randy Guntrum in contracting work, and at Colony Homes in Shippenville, and he retired from New Era Building Systems in Strattanville in 2004. Doc was a member of the V.F.W. in Clarion and he was an EMT and driver for southern clarion county EMS for numerous years. He enjoyed rifle and archery hunting and fishing. Doc is survived by his wife, one son, Dennis L. Myers and wife Meg of Stockholm, Sweden and one daughter, Dianne L. Hund and husband Tom of St. Joseph, Missouri, eight grandchildren, Stewart, Abby, and Charlotte Myers, Hannah Bridgman and husband Jeffrey, Jonathan, Sarah, Daniel, and Bethany Hund, and was awaiting the arrival of his first great granddaughter in April, his father-in-law, Joe Wilkinson of Rimersburg, sisters-in-law, Karen Chapman and husband Dan of Ohio, Janet Dougherty and husband Robert , Vickie Kriebel and husband Patrick all of Rimersburg, Kelly Mong and husband Dave of Russell, and Carole Guntrum of Rimersburg, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and also his god children, Stephanie, Samantha, Brooke, Brett, and Miranda, and god grandchildren Blake, Skyler, and Randi. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Wilbert T., Duane I, Karl S. Myers, a sister, Louise Bissett, mother-in-law, Lillian Guntrum, brothers-in-law, Brade and Randy. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Burns Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. in Rimersburg and also from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the revs. Tom Hund, son-in-law and Larry Myers, Nephew. Interment will follow in the Rimersburg Cemetery. The family would like to express their greatest appreciation for the doctors, nurses, and staff of Clarion Hospital not only for the excellent care of Doc, but also for the support and compaction to the family. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Burns Funeral Home and Crematorium Inc. in Rimersburg and also from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with the revs. Tom Hund, son-in-law and Larry Myers, Nephew.
