Donald D. Kahle

Donald Dean Kahle, 76, of Curllsville, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Clarion Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1939 in Clarion; son of the late Lawrence “Mike” and Eleanor Bickel Kahle. Don graduated from Clarion Limestone High School. After graduating high school he served in the US Army Reserves. He was married on November 19, 1960 to Rose Marie Zacherl, and she survives. As a young man Don worked at several local fruit stands and then began working as a mechanic and later became CEO and owner of Zacherl Motor Truck Sales Inc. along with his wife. Don was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion. He was a retired member of the Clarion Fire and Hose, Board Member of Clarion Chamber of Commerce and was also a member of the International Service Warranty Advisory Board. Don was a licensed private pilot and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar and other stringed instruments, golfing, and building log cabins. He is survived by his wife, his six children, Christina Rhoades and her husband Wesley of Curllsville, Richard Kahle and his wife Sharon of Indiana, PA, Stephen Kahle and his wife Tina of Curllsville, Barbara Stahlman and her husband Roger of Sligo, Anne Miller and her fiancé Oscar Chavez Alfaro of Lynchburg, VA, and Patrick Kahle and his wife Diane of Curllsville, sixteen grandchildren, one sister, Ruth Ann Deemer of Stattanville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lawrence “Sonny” Kahle and Charles “Chuck” Kahle, two sisters, Emma “Leona” Land and Doris Mae Confer, and two nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion. Interment will be held at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Donald’s name to the Clarion Hospital Foundation. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clarion. Interment will be held at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
