Doris M. Carungi

Doris M. Finefrock Potts Carungi, 86, of Clarion, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Clarion Hospital. Born on April 1, 1927 in Piney Township, Clarion County; she was the daughter of Walter F. and Adda M. Stopp Finefrock. She was married in October of 1975 to Adam P. Carungi, who preceded her in death. Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion, where she was a member of the circle group and was especially fond of attending Wednesday night services. She was an avid bowler, card player, golfer, and baker and was especially known for her pies and cookies. Doris is survived by two daughters, Sandra J. Potts Fagley and her husband, James, of Curllsville, and Kathleen A. Potts Peterson and her husband, Rick, of Knox. Also surviving are her grandchildren, which were the joy of her life, Nathan G. Peterson and his fiancé, Brianne Carpenter and son, Keeyote, of New Hampshire, Gretchen J. Peterson of North Carolina, Evan E. Peterson of Shippenville, Eric D. Breniman and his wife, Allison of Philadelphia, and Tyler D. Breniman of Seoul, South Korea; and a special longtime friend, Margaret Brazier of Clarion. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six siblings, Edwin Finefrock, Hazel Pavlick, Robert Finefrock, Mildred Miller, Jay Finefrock, and Betty Rhodes; and infant twin grandsons. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Deryl Larsen, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be held in the Clarion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Living Stones Campaign, 600 Wood Street, Clarion PA 16214; or to the Clarion Forest VNA, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion PA 16214. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street, Clarion.
