Doris H. Eisenman

Doris H. Eisenman, 90, of Shippenville, passed away peacefully Friday morning, October 17, 2025 at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 16, 1935 in Elmo to the late Henry E. and Dorothy P. McCormick Kapp. Doris was a 1954 graduate of Shippenville High School. She was married on August 31, 1957 to Raymond “Bud” Eisenman, who preceded her in death on June 10, 1996. Doris worked at the Clarion Hospital for 44 years in the Dietary Department before retiring in May of 2000. She was a member of the Pine City Crossroads Church, Strattanville Red Hats, and Clarion Historical Society. In her earlier years, Doris enjoyed being with her Christian friends and volunteering for the Strattanville Global Methodist Church and Clarion Historical Society. She also enjoyed crafting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Doris is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Denger, and her daughter-in-law, Jane Wenner, along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sisters, her twin, Dorothy Cook of Florida, Mary Ann Fay of Clarion, and Mabel Sherlock and her husband, Robert, of Shippenville, her brother, Melvin “Butch” Kapp and his wife, Joanne, of Pine City; and a special brother-in-law, Paul Eisenman of Florida. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her step-mother, Anna Kapp; her daughter, Linda Bower, and son-in-law, Thomas Bowser; her son, Charles Vandermark; 2 brothers, George Kapp and Louis Kapp; a sister, Gertrude “Kay” Vandermark; her mother-in-law, Mildred Eisenman; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion has the distinct honor of serving the family. Cremation care has been entrusted to the RV Burns Crematorium, Inc. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on November 1, 2025 at the Pine City Crossroads Church, 970 Millerstown Road, Shippenville, PA 16254, with Rev. Cindy Duffee presiding. Inurnment will take place beside her beloved husband at the Strattanville Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care they provided to Doris. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris’s name to the Tri-County Animal Rescue Center, 9562 Route 322, Shippenville, PA 16254.
