Dorsey Dean Berryhill

Dorsey “Dean” Berryhill, 85, of Greenville Pike, Clarion, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at the Clarion Hospital. Born on April 29, 1927, in Auburn, IN; he was the son of the late Russell and Gladys Hoverstock Berryhill. Dean was married on October 21, 1949, to the former Patricia V. Gerheim, and she survives. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Army as a Quarter Master, where he served mostly in Germany. Dean worked for the Steamfitter Local 449 of Pittsburgh. He was a member of the New Rehoboth Greenville Presbyterian Church in Clarion. Dean was a member of the Masonic Lodge #277 of Clarion and the New Castle Consistory. He enjoyed working on farmall tractors, wood working, traveling, and camping. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Deborah Jean Miller and her husband, Gary, of Titusville, and Lorie Kropp and her husband, Richard, of Clarion; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Berryhill of Fairmount City; seven grandchildren, Mark Miller and his wife, Tammy, of Ft. Wayne, IN, Chris Miller of Cochranton, Jennifer Kemp and her husband, Jim, of North East, Jessica Kopp of Strattanville, Richelle Reinsel and her husband, Brad, of Harpers Ferry, WV, and Ashley and McKayla Berryhill of Fairmount City; and six great grandchildren, Brendan and Claire Miller, Aiden, Evan, and Owen Kemp, and Grace Reinsel. Also surviving are six siblings, Arnold Berryhill of Avilla, IN, Raymond Berryhill and his wife, Kay, of Corunna, IN, Everett Berryhill and his wife, Rita, of Corunna, IN, Marilyn Weilbaker and her husband, John, of West Lafayette, IN, Naomi Cook of Auburn, IN, and Wanda Lorenz and her husband, Larry, of Thermopolis, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Irene Collins Berryhill, a son, Jeff Berryhill, and a sister, Elizabeth Waldron. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at the New Rehoboth Greenville Presbyterian Church, Clarion. Masonic services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012, in the funeral home by Masonic Lodge #277 of Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2012, at the New Rehoboth Greenville Presbyterian Church, Clarion, with James Dietrich, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville.
