Emily A. Niles

Emily Audra McCleese Niles, 41, of Clarion, passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly, in her sleep while at home on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She was born on June 14, 1982 in Radford, Virginia. Emily, along with her two beloved daughters, Amelia Belle, 14 and Alice Olivia, 11, moved to Clarion in 2022 from Florida where Emily had worked as a registered nurse for several years. She quickly made many friends and acquaintances in Clarion. Emily loved Clarion and intended to make a permanent home in the town she likened to a hallmark movie, frequently mentioning the kindness of her neighbors and everyone she met. She briefly owned “The Craft Cottage” located on Main Street. In December 2023, Emily began work as Director of Nursing at Shippenville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Shippenville. She was a bright and caring person who never met a stranger. Emily had great wit and charm that put others at ease. She was quirky, fun, smart, and adventurous. Emily was entirely dedicated, however, to her daughters who were her greatest joy, purpose and source of pride. She is survived by her devoted parents, Linda and Ray Rudisill of Tennessee and will be terribly missed by her aunts and uncles, Carol Mullens and her husband, Frank, of Ohio, Ronald McCleese of Ohio, Jack McCleese and his wife, Priscilla, of Kentucky, Arnold McCleese and his wife, Sue, of Georgia, Mary Lou McCleese and her significant other, Cindy Suter, of Canada, and Kathy Scales of Florida; along with many cousins and special friends, including Johnny & Laverne Howlett of Virginia and Jordan Snell of Clarion. Emily was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marshall and Audrey McCleese; her uncles and aunts, Ken and Phyllis Lilly, Teresa White, Mike McCleese, Susan McCleese, and Barbara McCleese; and a great-aunt, Belle Roe. We honor Emily for her faith in Jesus, determination, grit, kindness, love and friendship. We especially honor her as a beloved daughter and loving mother to her beautiful girls. Emily will be cremated and visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion where a celebration of Emily's life will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Barbara Ramous presiding.
