Garry L. Myers Sr.

Garry Lee Myers Sr., 67, of Rimersburg, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 2, 2015, at the Clarion Hospital. Born on November 30, 1947 in Knox; he was the son of Robert and Ruby Eisenhuth Myers. Garry was married on May 19, 1995 to the former Nancy Louise Ruth, and she survives. A veteran, he served in the U.S. Army as a mechanic. Garry worked as a tractor trailer driver. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Commander’s Club. Garry enjoyed hunting, working on trucks, and his John Deere tractor. In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by three children, Jodi Reed and her husband, Mark, of Clarion, Tammy Myers of Clarion, and Garry Myers Jr. and his fiancé, Lisa, of Rimersburg; grandchildren, Dylan Sheakley and his girlfriend, Nikki Pearce, Robert Boyer, Miranda Myers and her fiancé, Zackary Shillings, Cole Boyer, Logan Terwint, Elizabeth Myers; and two great grandchildren, Avalee Sheakley and Chase Shillings. Also surviving are eight siblings, Virginia Faye Cohlhepp, Sandra Gear, Daryl Myers and his wife, Sheryl, Larry Myers and his wife, Cicillia, Keith Myers, Cindy England, Karen England and her husband, Dave, and Pamela Drake; three brothers-in-law, Arthur Ruth and his wife, Tony, Terry Ruth, Howard Ruth and his wife, Sandra; and four sisters-in-law, Ruby Miller, Barbara Whitmore, Karen “Suzie” Holler, and Patty Shuffstall. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Donald Myers, Robert Myers Jr., Terry Myers, James Myers; a sister, Patty Myers; four brothers-in-law, Gerald Cohlhepp, Herbert Gear, Victor Miller, and Gale Strotman; two sisters-in-law, Carol Myers and Geraldine Strotman; and his beloved dog, Bandit. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Burns Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., 434 Main Street, Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015, in the funeral home with Rev. Dick Hill, pastor of the Church of The Nazarene in Sligo, officiating. Interment will be held in the Rimersburg Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Burns Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., 434 Main Street, Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015, in the funeral home.
