John C. Booth

John C. Booth, age 88, of Clarion, passed away Friday evening, July 24, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois following injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on December 14, 1937, in Limestone Township. John was among eight children of the late Blaine Booth, Sr. and Margaret Thomas Booth Smith. He married the love of his life, Mary Ann Bish, on April 26, 1957, and they shared almost sixty-one years of marriage until her passing on March 26, 2018. A hardworking and talented carpenter, John was well known throughout the community for his exceptional work ethic. Throughout his career, he worked for several companies, earning the respect of coworkers, employers, and customers alike. He took great pride in his work, and the quality of his craftsmanship will be remembered for years to come. John was an active member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He was an outspoken and proud supporter of President Donald Trump and admired pretty women, enjoyed classic cars, and had a passion for guns. John embraced life and never hesitated to share what he believed or loved. He leaves behind his son, Stephen Booth of Clarion; his daughters, Kimberly Kline and her husband, Keith, of Sligo, and Catherine Grant of Clarion; his bonus daughter, Rhonda Gomez of Sligo; two grandchildren, Seth Booth and Billy Vanderbilt and his wife, Kaitlyn; and three great-grandchildren, Kaeden Booth, Emerson Vanderbilt, and Peyton Vanderbilt. He also leaves behind two brothers, Bob Booth and his wife, Joann, of Clarion, and Ken Booth and his wife, Donna, of Arizona/Colorado; his sister, Luella Stroup of Clarion; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Booth and Marilyn Booth, both of Strattanville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and husband, John was preceded in death by his son, Randy Booth; two brothers, Newton Booth and Blaine Booth; two sisters, Mary Hurrelbrink and Maxine Burford; and four brothers-in-law, Floyd Hurrelbrink, Robert Reynolds, Don Stroup, and Byron Burford. Family and friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026, in the funeral home with Rev. Tom Young presiding. Inurnment will take place at Cedarview Memorial Park at a later date.
