Kendall R. Reed

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our cherished husband and father, Kendall Ray Reed. He passed away early Saturday morning, April 4, 2026, at the age of 76, following a lengthy decline in health. Kendall was an inspiration to many and a faithful servant of God. He was born on March 20, 1950, in Arkansas City, Kansas, to the late Claude and Violet Ruth Clegg Reed. Kendall was a graduate of Arkansas City High School and attended the former Kansas State Teachers College, now Emporia State University, where he earned a degree in chemistry. He married the love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” Reed, on June 18, 2005, and they shared over 20 wonderful years together. Kendall was extremely dedicated to his work integrity. He first worked at ADM Decatur in Illinois and then became a general manager at the Piney Creek Power Plant in Clarion and at Sunnyside in Utah, where he was a one-of-a-kind manager and was loved by all. Kendall was an active and dedicated member of Cornerstone Church of Clarion in Shippenville, where he also served as the lead Deacon. He had a heart of gold and was a passionate supporter of the Salvation Army of Clarion. Kendall always gave a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a family man and cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, and loved his dog, Doozey. Kendall was also an avid outdoorsman and loved riding his equine mule, John Boy, through the Allegheny National Forest and always looked forward to his yearly Bull Shoals fishing trips to the White River in Arkansas with his work buddies and his deer-hunting trips to the family farm in Kansas with Peggy. In addition to his wife, Kendall is survived by two daughters, Tanya Andricks of Illinois and Robin Reed of Idaho; his step-son, Justin Skiba, and his wife, Karen, of Strattanville; step-daughter, Magnolia Brown, and her husband, Dan, of Florida; five grandchildren, Katie and Luci Murphy, Zachary and Abby Andricks, and Maddie Skinner; and a sister, Gwen Bailey of Kansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim Reed and Steve Reed. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the AseraCare Hospice nurses for the excellent care and compassion they provided to Kendall. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion has the distinct honor of serving the family, and cremation care has been entrusted to the RV Burns Crematorium, Inc. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Cornerstone Church of Clarion with Rev. Josh Easlon and Gene Smith officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Church of Clarion, 3655 East End Road, Shippenville, PA 16254, to help fund a memorial bench in honor of Kendall.
