Norma J. Myers Lewis

Norma J. “Nanny” Myers Lewis, 93, of Shippenville, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 in the comfort of her own home. She was born on October 12, 1931 in Sligo; daughter of the late Gilbert Russell and Ressie Blanche Guntrum Henry. Norma married James J. Myers, who preceded her in death in 1961. She then married Larry J. “Mouse” Lewis, who also preceded her in death in 1992. In her earlier years, Norma was a stay-at-home-mom, caring for her family and keeping up with the everyday household chores. She then worked at the Parker Glass Plant for many years until her retirement. Norma’s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending every minute with them, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, who she adored deeply. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Myers Hawk of West Freedom; her son, Doug Myers and his wife, Ruth, of Shippenville; her daughter-in-law, Deb Myers of Sligo; 6 grandchildren, Jason (Gina) Hawk, Nicole Leadbetter, Dustin Hawk, Jonathan (Christina) Myers, Alicia (John) Myers, and Ryan Myers; 8 great grandchildren, Nadaleigh Hawk, Donovan Hawk, Paige Myers, Gavin Myers, Hunter Myers, Emma Leigh Myers, Alexandria Leadbetter, and Logan Leadbetter; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Xavier Brletrick and Atlas Myers. Norma is also survived by her sister, Shirley Hoover of Lancaster and a sister-in-law, Cathy Henry of Apollo; along with a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jesse J. Myers; 4 brothers, Jack Henry, Gilbert “Bus” Henry, Robert Henry, and infant brother, Donald Henry; and 2 sisters, Dolores “Dee” Fowler and Dorothy “Dort” Foust. Norma’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice for their excellent care and love they gave Norma. Family and friends will be received from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion where funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Dan Myers presiding. Interment will take place in the Sligo Cemetery.
