P. Eileen Heasley

P. Eileen “Corky” Heasley, 90, of Clarion, passed away early Monday morning, January 27, 2025 at the Clarion Hospital following a period of declining health. She was born on August 14, 1934 in Sligo; daughter of the late Thomas and Bernice Emhoff Courson. Corky was a 1952 graduate of Clarion Area High School. She then continued her education, graduating from Stenographers School. Corky married James G. Heasley on April 14, 1956, who preceded her in death on January 22, 1983. In her earlier years, she was a homemaker. Corky then worked in the deli department at the former Riverside/BiLo in Clarion for a number of years until she retired. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion and enjoyed playing bingo and cards, working on crossword puzzles, watching game shows on tv, and trips to the casino. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Steele of Clarion, Terri Heasley of Florida, Lisa Heasley and her husband, Dennis Stiglitz, of Fairmount City, and Amy Kerle and her husband, Chip, of Shippenville; 2 grandsons, Matthew Steele and Kolton Stiglitz; 2 granddaughters, Erin Burns and Toni Stiglitz; and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Kay Mowry of Florida; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Corky was preceded in death by her twin sons, Jim and John Heasley; her son-in-law, Michael Steele; a grandson, Michael Steele; and 4 siblings, Robert Courson, Meriam Gilmore, Geraldine McDonald, and Betty Campbell. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and the Clarion Hospital for their excellent care and compassion they gave Corky. Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the funeral home with Rev. Jodie Smith, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Clarion, presiding. Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Corky’s honor to the First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood Street, Clarion, PA 16214 or to a charity of one’s choice.
