Patricia D. Monrean

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia Darlene Slaugenhoup Berlin Monrean. Pat came into this world on December 22, 1946, and transitioned out of this life on early Tuesday morning, February 10, 2026, at the age of 79. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Charlotte Clark Slaugenhoup. Pat loved calling Rimersburg her home. With the sense of a small, close-knit community, she was able to enjoy the bonds of friends and neighbors. Pat had a love for animals, especially cats and dogs. She loved violets, such a simple and beautiful flower. Pat's favorite pastime was solving jigsaw puzzles, enjoying the challenge of creating a wonderful picture piece by piece. Pat retired from the Food Services Department at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Connecticut. Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Eugene Berlin, whom she married on November 27, 1964, in Rimersburg. They were blessed to be married for fifty years until Gene’s passing in May of 2015. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Slaugenhoup, in March of 2015. Pat leaves behind her loving husband, Jerry Monrean, whom she married on November 17, 2017; two sons, Ronald Berlin and his fiancée, Ivana Walker of East Hartland, CT, and Richard Berlin and his wife, Carole of Windsor Locks, CT; four step-children, Jodi Paine, Andrew Monrean, Jacob Monrean, and Monique Monrean; ten grandchildren, Evan, Jordan, Joe, Macyn, Jake, Zachary, Jenna, Mykaila, Madysen, and Maylee; and three great-grandchildren, Adrianna, Aubrey, and Jake, Jr. She also leaves behind her sisters, June Schultz and Judith Switzer, and their families. The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to Pat’s caretakers, who took wonderful care of her during a valiant struggle with dementia. Samantha, Brenna, and Saundra showed love, compassion, and devotion to Pat. We don’t know what we would have done without their support. Her two dogs, Angel and Snitzel, never left Pat’s side and were with her until she peacefully passed away. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion has the distinct honor of serving the family. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Cornerstone Church of Clarion, 3655 East End Road, Shippenville, PA 16254, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Josh Easlon presiding. A luncheon will be provided immediately following. Interment will take place in the Rimersburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s honor to the Cornerstone Church.
