Robert G. Bellesfield

Robert G. Bellesfield, 79, of Route 322, Shippenville, died Saturday, July 28, 2012. Born May 19, 1933, in Allentown; he was the son of the late John O. and May Stephens Bellesfield. A veteran, Robert served in the Army during the Korean War, where he received a Purple Heart. He was married to the former Alice Buzard, she preceded him in death on August 14, 1987. He spent the last 23 years with his love, Maxine Shearer Bellesfield, and she survives. Robert retired from the Castle Rubber Company in Butler after working for 30 years. He then worked 11 years as a greeter at the Wal-Mart in Clarion. He loved his cat, Climber. Surviving are his wife, Maxine; his six children, Robert Bellesfield Jr. of Sligo, Sylvia Pago of Distant, Pamela White and her husband, Terry, of New Bethlehem, Helen Neiswonger and her husband, Ernest, of New Bethlehem, Daniel Bellesfield and his wife, Connie, of New Bethlehem, and Kimberly Carl of Rimersburg; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bellesfield of Rimersburg; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Bernice S. Kincaid and her husband, David, of Allentown; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Alice, he was preceded in death by three sons, Roland Buzard, Kevin Bellesfield, and John Bellesfield; a brother, Leon J. Bellesfield; and a sister, June M. Hertzog. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #66 of Clarion at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in the funeral home with Pastor Randy L. Evans, Clarion Forest VNA Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Interment will be held in the Squirrel Hill Cemetery in New Bethlehem. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post #66 of Clarion at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in the funeral home.
